This morning you head to Castletown, the ancient capital of the Isle of Man. Here you get to visit Castle Rushen, said to be the best-preserved medieval castle in the British isles. The castle has been home to a Viking king, a Civil war fortress and was the Island's prison in Victorian times. Following a little free time to explore the town at leisure, you continue onto the Sound Café. This is located at the very southern tip of the Isle and offers stunning coastal views for you to enjoy whilst offering a vast range of tempting drinks and food choices.
Peel & Tynwald Mills
Peel & Tynwald Mills
Today you journey to Peel, a delightful seaside destination. Peel is sometimes referred to as the "red rose city" due to the red sandstone used to build the castle and other notable buildings. Here you can visit the Victorian promenade or explore the narrow streets of fisherman's cottages. From here, you continue on to Tynwald Mills. This delightful shopping outlet is home to several local businesses where you will be able to stock up on some local produce.
Douglas, Manx
Douglas, Manx Electric Railway & Snaefell Mountain Railway
Your first stop today is for some free time in the Island's capital Douglas. Being the largest town on the Island you will find popular high street and independent shops, as well as the interesting Manx Museum. From here, you join the Manx Electric Railway to Laxey before boarding the Snaefell Mountain Railway to the Summit. After your journey back down the mountain, you rejoin the Manx Electric Railway to Ramsey, where you can either meet your driver or take the short walk back to the hotel.
