While youre here, take a walk over the delicately manicured gardens and have lunch in the gorgeous conservatory. All rooms are en suite and have TV, tea/coffee making facilities, Wi-Fi and hairdryer. Haddon Hall
Matlock & Haddon Hall
This morning you take a short drive along the Derwent Gorge to the delightful town of Matlock. You have some free time here before you continue on to Haddon Hall, probably the finest example of a fortified medieval manor house still in existence today. There will be time for you to wander around the gardens and stunning Elizabethan Walled Gardens, recently redesigned by Arne Maynard.
Renishaw Hall
Renishaw Hall & Gardens and Chesterfield
Today you travel north to the beautiful Renishaw Hall & Gardens. Home to the Sitwell family for over 400 years, there are 8 acres of Italianate gardens, statues, borders, ponds and woodlands to explore here. We then take you to Chesterfield for some free time. A paradise for shoppers, Chesterfield is perhaps best known for St Mary's Church that has a crooked spire.
Melbourne Hall Gdns
Derby & Melbourne Hall Gardens
You travel to Derby today, the UK's most central city! After some free time here you continue on to Melbourne Hall Gardens, the private residence of Lord and Lady Kerr who initiated an imaginative planting scheme in the gardens including shrubs, a unique collection of magnolias and roses. These gardens really are of rare beauty!
