Afterwards, you journey back to the hotel where you can savour the distant views of the Cumbrian lakes.
Devils Porridge

This morning you travel to Devils Porridge Museum. This museum commemorates HM Factory Gretna, which was the largest munitions factory in the world during the first world war. There were 30,000 employees all mixing cordite or else known as the Devils Porridge. This afternoon you meet your tour guide for a guided tour of the Scottish side of the Solway. On your tour you will visit Anna harbour, once a busy shipbuilding site, as well as incredible landscapes which influenced the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns.
Lake Ullswater
Lake Ullswater Cruise & Lowther Castle and Gardens
Today you cross the border into the glorious Lake District, beginning with a visit to Lowther Castle & Gardens. Once a jewel of the region, the early 19th-century castle was partly demolished after 130 years, and the grounds lay untouched for 50 years.
